Background Check & Abuse Training Requirement - The Little League Child Protection Program
- Adults wishing to volunteer must register for each season. There is no fee for registering to volunteer, but you MUST complete a Volunteer Application and we must run a NATIONWIDE background check using the JDP system. You will not be permitted to help on the field unless you have done so.
- We strongly encourage any person who may possibly be assisting on the field to get these completed at the beginning of the year. This is especially important for the lower levels where parent involvement in practice and games is extremely helpful!
- Little League also requires an Abuse Awareness training for all volunteers. Estimated time for the training is 30 minutes. You will receive information when you fill out information for your background check.
- For more information about background checks and Abuse Awareness requirements, visit Little League Child Protection Program.
To complete this online:
- Log in at FGLL website, the same way to you do to register your athlete.
- On the main “My Account” page, choose “Register a volunteer” (beneath the “players” section)
- Select your role you are volunteering for and submit necessary documents.
To complete this in person, print this 2024 Volunteer Application and turn it into a board member with a copy of a government-issued photo ID OR email your completed application and copy of ID to [email protected]
This process is MANDATORY for all Little Leagues. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our players safe.
